Things are going great!

Just wanted to update you all on my recent check-up with my oncologist. All my blood work looks great. My Vit D is GREAT, so that is a little different. When my current script for Vit D is out I will go to Over the counter. My iGg levels are still low, which is expected and they are going to try to get a treatment authorized by ins, especially since I got sick last month. Lastly, they are going to see if insurance with authorize a CT Scan as the last one I had was March last year, just to make sure there is nothing going on that doesn’t show in the blood work.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement, y’all mean the world to me!

It’s great to hear the good news! As I’m sure you know…Follicular Lymphoma, like prostate cancer, is very, very, very seldom fatal, with the chances of it being the cause of your ‘shuffling of this mortal coil’ to be minimal! Currently the average length of survival of patients with advanced stages of Follicular Lymphoma (Stage III/Stage IV ) which I’m pretty sure, from things you’ve said, you don’t have…is between 19 and 20 years. But having cancer, even in its most benign forms, is always fraught with worries, many of them mental rather than physical!

Being a 50 year survivor of Stage III Melanoma, which, at the time, had an average survival of less than 2 years…I know of which I speak! My advice, over the years, to my cancer patients (I was a ‘happy health care provider’ for 45 years) was to follow their doctors’ advice…notify them of any major changes in your body…and enjoy each and every day! If you spend all of your days worrying about dying…you might as well go ahead and die…because that is not living!

(Actually…that advice pretty much hold true for non-cancer patients as well!)

Here’s to seeing that beautiful smile…and gorgeous body…for years and years to come!

    • Chaz, Thanks so much for the comments and the advice. I am a glass Hal full kind of person, I try not to worry about things I have no control over. I was diagnosed in Spring 2015 and I’m feeling great now. I go on Tuesday for my CT Scan just to check things out.

But I do appreciate you taking the time to read and reply to my post. And I hope you continue with your good health.
